Houston’s leading laser tattoo removal clinic, New Look Laser Tattoo Removal, is happy to give you some tips on preparing for the 1st tattoo removal appointment you will.

Although there is a general stigma around the pain that comes along with a laser tattoo removal procedure, New Look is here to assure you that it’s not as scary as you think!

During your first visit with us, you’ll meet with our certified laser specialist to discuss your concerns and give you an idea of what your tattoo removal process will be like, keeping your tattoo, skin type, and more in mind. The laser specialist can also discuss pricing and laser treatment packages so you have an idea of the cost of laser tattoo removal and how New Look Laser Tattoo Removal makes it easy to fit full removal into your budget.

After the free consultation you will have the option to get started with the removal process right away or go home to think it over and possibly discuss with loved ones.

If you do decide to get started, we will have you fill out a couple medical forms, and from there, our specialist will make sure you are a good candidate for removal. As a general rule, the main contraindications are pregnancy, breastfeeding, immuno-compromising health issues, and medications that cause light sensitivity such as antibiotics or acne medicine.

As far as the area that is to be treated, make sure you have no sunburn, irritation or rash on that general area, and if the tattoo to be removed is new, it must be fully healed before we can start removing it. Treatment itself should take just a few minutes (longer for larger tattoos) and afterwards you can usually resume all normal activity with a few exceptions:

  • Avoid exercise for 1-2 days.
  • Plan around vacations and such as you will have to avoid sun and water (showers are fine) for around two weeks.
  • Do be considerate of your work and social schedule, if you have a party the next night and your tattoo is on your foot, heels might not be in your plans.

We will send you home with complete instructions and make sure all your questions have been answered; just in case you had any lingering concerns, we will also call you the day after your first treatment to check up on your healing process and address any concerns.

New Look is Houston’s #1 tattoo removal clinic for a reason. Give us a call, today.
