At New Look, we pride ourselves on not racing through our treatments. Tattoo removal sessions don’t take very much time, but we’ll do our best every time to pay very close attention to your tattoo in order to cover the entire inked area and get a great reaction from the skin. On later treatments especially, it might take a bit longer to keep making the sort of progress that our patients are hoping for. That being said, patients see the most progress in their first few treatments and see less progress from later treatments as the easiest-to-access ink has already been removed.
Treatment times generally range between a few minutes and up to 20, 30, or 40 minutes. A simple tattoo consisting of cursive writing will be treated very quickly. We’ll likely spend more time numbing the skin with our cooling machine and bandaging up the skin than with the procedure itself.

The staff here at New Look Laser Tattoo Removal pride ourselves on being available for our tattoo removal patients. This takes several different forms – we are open Monday through Friday from 10am to 7pm. That’s five days a week, every week that we perform laser tattoo removal. That’s a big advantage for our patients – you don’t have to wait until the one day a month that we offer this treatment. We own (instead of rent) our lasers and patients benefit from our experience.
Another way we like to make ourselves available to our patients is responding the patient questions as quickly as possible. If patients wish to ask our certified laser specialists a question after their tattoo removal treatment is complete we do our best to respond as soon as possible.

Hello Everyone! This is Lynette Kennedy, family nurse practitioner at New Look Laser Tattoo Removal. I am very excited about this new blog we are starting. It will be a great way for me to discuss some key issues that come up during laser tattoo removal treatments at our clinics in both Houston and Dallas.
One of the first issues I would like to discuss with you is the side effect of blistering. Most patients will experience some form of blistering with any properly executed laser tattoo removal treatment. It is your body responding to the injury by the laser. One of the good things about blistering with tattoo removal is that is not very deep in the skin and should not cause scarring. However, these blisters can get fairly large including covering the entire area treated by the laser. Don’t worry, these blisters heal up beautifully and it will seem like you never had them. Most blistering is gone in one week although occasionally it can last up to two weeks. Most patients will keep them covered if they are in area that may be uncomfortable when wearing clothes (for example, on the waist where your pants button or on your foot where you wear shoes and socks). The blisters will heal up well on their own so just sit back and let your body do the work for you.
Here are a few things that may increase your risk for blistering:
1. Lighter skin
2. Bright, colorful tattoos- tattoos with lighter colors require the use of a 532nm wavelength laser which tends to blister more.
3. First treatment- During your first laser tattoo removal treatment, you have more ink than you will during your second, third, etc. Since you have more ink, there is slightly more side effects to the tattoo removal treatment.
Again, don’t worry too much about blistering, just expect that it will happen and know that it will heal up nicely. Sometimes you even see your tattoo color come out with the blistering which is a very good thing. Let us know if you have any other questions regarding blistering with laser tattoo removal. I would love to answer your questions so you will be completely prepared for your treatment with New Look Laser Tattoo Removal.
