Military tattoo removal – are you joining the military and a tattoo is standing in between you and your goals? All branches of the US Military have rules that limit the ability of new recruits to have certain tattoos. All branches put some restrictions on visible tattoos and tattoos that hate certain gang affiliations or controversial messages. In order to maintain “good order and discipline” and prevent controversies between members of the armed services, military recruiters will require that you remove your tattoo before they will allow you to start the process of joining the military.

Survey of tattoos in America

  • Posted on November 23, 2008 at 10:26 pm

The Harris Poll conducted a survey across the United States about tattoos and tattoo removal several years ago. It found that 16% of adults have at least one tattoo, with the highest incidence among 25-29 year olds (36%) and 30-39 year olds (28%).

Democrats were slightly more likely 18%) than Republicans (14%) to have a tattoo. Equal percentages of males and females have tattoos.

Surely in the years since this survey was conducted (2003) the number of Americans with tattoo has increased. We seem to recall that 50% of 20-29 year olds in the United States have a tattoo. Let’s see if we can find more current data.

New Look Laser Tattoo Removal is the leading provider of tattoo removal in Texas. To learn about laser training for laser tattoo removal visit New Look Laser College, this page on tattoo removal education, or this page on tattoo removal schools

Good News! Yellow is no longer difficult to remove!

  • Posted on May 27, 2008 at 11:06 am

Good news, yellow is no longer difficult to remove! Lasers in the past have not been adequate to remove yellow in unwanted tattoos. However, technology has come a long way in the past two to three years in laser tattoo removal. With today’s new lasers, I have been able to successfully remove yellows of all shades. Using just a few simple techniques with our new laser, yellow is often times the first color to come out in fact and people are now able to remove those tattoos that just a few years ago they could not.

During an initial consultation with New Look Laser Tattoo Removal, we will go over each color in your tattoo so that you will have a fairly accurate idea of what we can do for you. We pride ourselves in giving you honest information and sharing our knowledge that we have accumulated after removing thousands of tattoos. My job is to provide you with all the information so you can make a good decision and be satisfied with your tattoo removal.

On the other hand, teal is still the very hardest color to remove. If you have a tattoo that is teal, I can tell you, chances are you may only have 50 to 75 percent of that color removed. This means you may still have a tent of that color even after your final laser tattoo removal treatment. If you have already started your tattoo removal and it seems like you may fit this teal category, don’t worry, your body may have another way of making that shade of teal fade even more.

Many tattoo artists use the power of black and outlining to hold your colors in and keep your tattoo lasting as long as possible. Most tattoos are outlined in black and that outlining tends to be slightly deeper in the skin. This allows the artist to layer black so that it is able to hold in all your color nicely. The good news is that black is the easiest color to completely remove. Once that black outlining is gone, your body naturally goes to work diffusing the colors in your skin naturally because the particles are smaller. This makes fading and blending much easier for those who have a little teal left over after their final laser tattoo removal treatment.

If you have not started a laser tattoo removal treatment and you have teal or something similar to teal (ie, bright blue or green), make sure you would be happy with having some of that color left over just in case it does not come all the way out. This doesn’t mean your other colors will not come out, just that the teal may not. Remember, if this would be okay to you, your body will naturally disperse the rest of the teal color that is left behind which will lend itself to better blending in with the rest of your skin color.

Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding colors and your tattoo. I would love to give you all the information you need to make a good decision regarding your tattoo removal. Thanks, Lynette Kennedy, family nurse practitioner.
