Yes, there are times when you shouldn't get a tattoo, like when you've had too much alcohol, are on vacation, or are following a trend. But if a true artist does it, and it means something to you there can be no greater pleasure than staring at a beautiful work of art in the mirror each day. I waited 10 years to get my first one, and it's been 6 yrs and I can't wait to get my second and third ones. I come from a family of tattoo artists. So the best advice to give is " can you look at the tattoo your going to get in ten years time and still love it?" Also do your research on the artist, what does his previous work look like, is the shop clean and does he draw all his own designs?
